Bovet was found in 1822 by Eduard Bovet for the purposes of watch trade with China. Since the business rapidly expanded, the center of manufacture was moved to Fleurier. At that time, Bovet made significant contributions to watchmaking.
In 2003, Pascal Raffy bought all the shares of Bovet and began the actual work. He bought the dial supplier for Bovet and some shares of the brand supplying cases for Bovet. Raffy made the most interesting and distinguishing investment by buying a small castle, Château de Môtiers, which once belonged to the Bovet family. Built in 14th century and acquired by Dubois-Bovet in 1835, Château de Môtiers turned into the center of manufacture for Bovet to stick to the tradition of the name. Taking all the investments together, Raffy nearly spent $35 million.
Bovet has been continuing to manufacture unique timepieces. It has recently introduced a special edition of the 19Thirty Fleurier with an Imperial Red dial. According to the brand, the red dial symbolizes life, health, love, and passion. In other words, all the things people desperately need right now.
Having the measurements of 42mm x 9mm, the case come in18k polished red gold. The red sapphire cabochons on crown, bows and lugs are very attention grabbing. The timepiece is water-resistant up to 30 meters and there are sapphire crystals on front and back.
The guilloche dial with Côtes de Genève finishing actually creates a powerful and passionate outlook. There are two intersecting counters; one for hours and minutes with white Roman numerals, the other for seconds with Arabic numbers. There is also a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock.
Powered by in-house, manual-winding Calibre 11BM04, the movement operates at a frequency of 21,600vph with a power reserve of 7 days. The functions are hours, minutes, seconds, and power reserve indicator
The model comes with black or red alligator strap with red gold buckle.
The price is CHF 34,600.
