Omega Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” has been introduced.
Omega took “Silver Snoopy Award” at NASA in 1970. Omega’s contributions to space explorations and valuable support of Speedmaster in rescuing Apollo 13 were recognized.
A featured timepiece has been introduced precisely 50 years later combining animation with watchmaking. Snoopy tribute has opened new realms of design for OMEGA Speedmaster.
Beagle plays an important role since it initially seems as an engraved silver medallion on the blue subdial. He wears his famous spacesuit which is exactly similar to the silver pin worn by NASA astronauts. The dial is laser-engraved with Ag925. It has two more blue subdials and blue PVD angle-shaped hour markers and hands.
On the caseback, Snoopy goes into orbit. The chronograph seconds hand is in use, Snoopy takes a trip around the moon just like the Apollo 13 crew.
In the distance, a vision of world is included. The Earth disc rotates once per minute. The quote, “Eyes on the Stars”, is included within the black universe.
Reflecting OMEGA’s excellence in details, the blue nylon fabric strap is in perfect harmony with the other blue elements of the watch. The strap is attached to a 42mm case in stainless steel. The tachymeter scale is shown in white enamel on a blue ceramic bezel ring.
