ORIS WHALE SHARK L.E. DIVER

Oris’s mission to bring Change for the Better turns to the Earth’s delicate ecosystem and to a watch that highlights the threat to the largest fish in the ocean, the magnificent whale shark. The whale shark can grow to be as long as a bus while feeding only on small fish. But this fascinating creature’s future is in grave danger. In 2016, the IUCN made the stark announcement that the global population of whale sharks had halved over the previous 75 years.

In order to pay special attention to this valuable animal, Oris has presented Whale Shark Limited Edition. Limited to 2016 pieces, this special timepiece aims to raise awareness to clean, restore and protect the world’s water.

The stainless-steel case has the measurement of 43.5mm. The timepiece features bi-directional rotating blue and black (day/ night) ceramic bezel with GMT scale.

There is a AR-coated sapphire crystal on the front and an caseback on which a whale shark figure is engraved. As a classical feature of diver watches, the model is water resistant up to 300 meters.

Powered by Swiss Automatic Oris caliber 798 (base Sellita SW330-1) with 25 jewels, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 42 hours. The functions are hours, minutes, seconds, 24 hours hand, and date.

The distinguished blue dial has special engraved pattern inspired by whale shark skin. The hands and indexes are coated with SuperLuminova.

The model comes with a steel bracelet with a security folding clasp with a diver extension.

The price of the model is $3,200.
